The Human Resources Manager is responsible for leading all HR functions at a non-union manufacturing facility. This role serves as a partner to plant leadership while also providing hands-on support across employee relations, staffing, compliance, performance management, and training and development. The HR Manager ensures a positive employee experience while maintaining compliance with all employment laws and supporting operational goals.Carpenter Co. employees are committed to working hard to ensure production goals are met while maintaining operations excellence. As the successful candidate, you will provide support for plant management and hourly employees.Employee Relations & EngagementServe as the primary point of contact for employee relations matters, including conflict resolution, investigations, discipline, and performance managementFoster a positive and respectful workplace culture aligned with company valuesCoach supervisors and managers on effective people management, documentation, and communicationTalent Acquisition & Workforce PlanningManage full-cycle recruiting for hourly and salaried manufacturing rolesPartner with plant leadership to forecast workforce needs and develop staffing strategiesBuild relationships with local schools, trade programs, and community organizations to support talent pipelinesOversee onboarding and orientation to ensure new hires are successfully integratedCompensation, Benefits & Payroll SupportCommunicate benefits programs in accordance with company policiesPartner with corporate HR and payroll to ensure accurate employee data, timekeeping, and pay practicesCompliance & Risk ManagementEnsure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws (FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEOC, etc.)Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentationLead or support audits, reporting, and compliance trainingsMonitor policies and practices to maintain non-union status through strong employee relationsHR Strategy & Continuous ImprovementServe as a trusted advisor to plant leadership on organizational change, workforce challenges, and culture initiativesSupport company-wide HR initiatives and implement them effectively at the plant levelQualificationsRequiredBachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field5+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environmentStrong working knowledge of employment law and HR best practicesProven experience handling employee relations and performance managementAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing settingPreferredHR certification (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR)Experience supporting multi-shift operationsSkills & CompetenciesStrong interpersonal and communication skillsSound judgment and discretion with confidential informationAbility to influence and coach leaders at all levelsProblem-solving and conflict resolution skillsOrganized, detail-oriented, and adaptableData-driven mindset with the ability to translate insights into actionWork EnvironmentManufacturing plant environment with regular exposure to production areasMay require flexible hours to support multiple shiftsOccasional travel for training or meetings may be requiredImportant NotesCarpenter Co. is an equal opportunity employer and considers all qualified applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, or other legally protected characteristic.Carpenter Co. conducts pre-employment drug testing on all applicants that receive and accept a written offer of employment.
