REHIRE Former HFD Classified Members - FIRE FIGHTER

CITY OF HOUSTON ANNOUNCEMENT FOR THE REHIRE OF  HOUSTON FIRE DEPARTMENT CERTIFIED FIRE FIGHTER / EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIAN  FOR THE POSITION OF  FIRE FIGHTER    Exciting things are happening at the Houston Fire Department (HFD) and this is a phenomenal opportunity for former HFD Classified members to rejoin the team. Eligible to Apply: * Former HFD Classified Members - Certified Firefighter/Emergency Medical Technicians        1.  Must have obtained the rank of Firefighter as a HFD Classified member        2. An Active/Current Texas Commission on Fire Protection (TCFP) Certification AND        3. An Active/Current Texas Department of State Health Services (TDSHS) Certification DUTIES: * Re-acclimation training (5 Weeks) - participates in lectures, seminars, and practical training sessions. * Receives and participates in various types of training in fire suppression and emergency medical services. * Participates in drills, demonstrations and instruction in hydraulics, pump operation, maintenance, fire suppression, rescue, and emergency medical services.
