Job DescriptionDebbie's Staffing is looking for a Material Handler in Winston-Salem, NC to start work immediately. Hours: Monday-Friday 9:00am -4:00pm hours may increase depending on workload. Job Summary Build and stage TEFAP pallets for partner agencies by accurately selecting, organizing, and stacking food products according to distribution guidelines. Ensure pallets are stable, labeled correctly, and prepared for safe loading and transport. Maintain a clean work area while following safety, food handling, and quality standards. Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: • Sort product according to product type and repackage according to guidelines. • Accurately, efficiently and safely store products on racking and in refrigeration units. • Maintain a system that adheres to FIFO rules by placing first received product in front • Maintain appropriate inventory levels to build TEFAP frozen food orders. • Utilize safe handling of all warehouse equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks, to avoid personal injury to self, others and damage to property. • Maintain a clean, orderly and safe work area at all times. • Comply with policies and operating procedures for all food safety programs. • Participate in other Food Bank duties and activities as assigned. • Operate a palette jack. • Work with and oversee volunteers. QUALIFICATIONS: • Commitment to the vision, mission and values of the client • Good communication skills • Excellent math skills • Able to work in a team environment • Drug testing and criminal background check required for employment • Availability to work some evenings and Saturdays as needed • Ability to perform duties in accordance with Safety Policies • Sit down forklift and Rf scanner experience PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: • Able to lift up to sixty pounds without assistance • Able to operate warehouse equipment including pallet jacks, forklifts, etc. • Able to intermittingly work in sub-zero temperature of freezers • Basic math skills required • Able to read scale weights and record them correctly • Able to walk, sit, stoop, squat, etc. frequently • Able to stand for long periods of time occasionally • Able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing • Visual acuity to perform job duties • Able to work with a diverse group of people • Able to maintain harmonious relationships with volunteers EOE
