Mechanical Technician

Our client, **a leading automotive manufacturer** , is seeking a **Mechanical Technician 2** to join their team. As a Mechanical Technician 2, you will be part of the **engineering and testing support function** , assisting **engineering staff and technical teams** in the modification, testing, repair, and documentation of mechanical components and equipment. The ideal candidate will have **strong mechanical problem‑solving skills** , **excellent communication** , and **high attention to detail** , which will align successfully within the organization. **Job Title:** Mechanical Technician **Location:** Warren, MI 48092 (On‑site) **Pay Range:** $25.85 - $29.54 per hour **Client:** General Motors **What's the Job?** + Modify, test, and repair machinery and equipment under the direction of engineering staff. + Prepare part sketches, write work orders, and submit purchase requests to outside contractors. + Draft detail drawings or sketches for fabrication through machine, sheet metal, or wood shops. + Review project instructions and blueprints to determine test specifications, procedures, and redesign requirements. + Coordinate design, manufacturing, assembly, and drafting changes with engineering staff and ensure accuracy of drawings. **What's Needed?** + Associate degree in engineering technology or related field. + 2-4 years of experience in mechanical, testing, or engineering technician environments. + Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications. + Strong analytical, communication, and problem‑solving skills; detail‑oriented team player. + Basic experience with engineering calculations, drafting/sketching, and using computer‑aided design or engineering software. **What's in it for me?** + Opportunity to work at one of the most advanced automotive technical centers in the country. + Consistent full‑time schedule with the option of **2nd shift (3pm-11:30pm)** or **3rd shift (11pm-7:30am)** . + Training provided on 1st shift (7am-3:30pm). + Competitive hourly pay aligned with technical skill sets. + Hands‑on engineering support work with opportunities to expand mechanical and technical expertise.
