By joining our network, you gain access to roles worth considering.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, fabricate, and assemble precision tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures.Perform preventative maintenance and repair on existing production tooling.Troubleshoot and resolve complex tooling issues affecting manufacturing processes.Operate and program various machine tools, including CNC mills, lathes, grinders, and EDMs.Interpret engineering blueprints, CAD models, and technical specifications for tool construction.Conduct precise measurements using metrology equipment to ensure dimensional accuracy and quality.Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize tool performance and efficiency.Recommended QualificationsProficiency in precision machining techniques (milling, turning, grinding).Expertise in reading and interpreting engineering blueprints, schematics, and GD&T.Demonstrated ability to operate manual machining equipment (lathes, mills, surface grinders).Strong knowledge of metallurgy, material properties, and heat treatment processes.Skilled in using a wide range of precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges).Proven experience in tool fabrication, repair, and maintenance.Bonus QualificationsProficiency in CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, Mastercam)Experience with advanced machining techniques such as EDM or 5-axis millingAbility to program and set up CNC machines independentlyKnowledge of metrology equipment and CMM operationJob Titles That Should ApplyTool and Die Maker, Mold Maker, Die Maker, Jig and Fixture Maker, Precision Tool Maker, Tool Room Machinist, CNC Tool MakerWhy Pivot GroupThe Pivot Group was founded by manufacturing professionals who've been on both sides of the hiring process.
