Welder Under the direction of the Production Supervisor, a Welder (a.k.a Weld Operator) is responsible for operating and performing various welding techniques, MIG stick, TIG welding on a variety of metal alloys and customer parts. Welders are responsible for ensuring the parts are defect free, meet customer specifications. Hours: This is a M-F 1st shift position ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Comply with all safety and health guidelines, quality standard practices/procedures and housekeeping standards Operator will be required to set-up, adjust machines, and equipment in order to manually weld castings to an acceptable quality using TIG welding. Will receive instructions, and procedures for the job. Will organize and plan operational duties for the shift he/she is assigned. Perform all required quality tests, certifications, and production checks as required Operator will continually visually inspect product, record production as required, report/record scrap, and other various duties or rework as assigned. Set-up components for welding according to specifications. Weld and repair components while operating proper weld equipment in a safe manner. Work with engineering on PQR (Procedure Qualification record) and WPS (Welding Procedure Specification) Dependable and reliable attendance required. Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws. Ensures product is not moved to the next operation until the required inspection and tests are complete. Assist in training new employees. Qualifications Requires a high school diploma and be a qualified welder with one-year experience or more through either a foundry, fabrication manufacturer, or be certified by a technical institute. NADCAP welding experience and/or AWS Certified preferred. You will need a welding helmet and steel toed shoes should you be interviewed onsite for this position.
