The Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Technician II is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and implementing electrical power circuits, control systems, and instrumentation used in industrial manufacturing and plant operations. This role supports the reliability and performance of equipment across compressor stations, pump stations, production facilities, and measurement systems. The person in this role is also required to perform routine maintenance tasks as assigned.The successful candidate will have the following Key Accountabilities:Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical power circuits and equipmentMaintain and support control, automation, electronic, and pneumatic systemsProgram, maintain, and modify programmable logic controllers (PLCs) used in manufacturing and assembly line processesSupport instrumentation and measurement systems critical to plant operationsCollaborate with process technicians, maintenance technicians, engineers, operations and contract partners to maximize equipment reliability and minimize production downtimeParticipate in preventative and predictive maintenance programsAssist with equipment upgrades, installations, and commissioning activitiesOperational SupportReport directly to the Maintenance SupervisorProvide operational support as needed to meet business and production requirementsBackfill operations personnel when required due to business or operational needsProactively assist operations personnel in daily activities to achieve organizational objectivesWork EnvironmentIndustrial manufacturing and plant environmentsExposure to electrical, mechanical, and automated systemsWill require on-call support or flexible scheduling based on operational needsThe successful candidate will have the following Minimum Qualifications:Education & Certifications:High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree or technical certification in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or Industrial Automation preferredCertification or coursework in PLC programming, electrical safety, or industrial instrumentation is highly desirableValid driver's license may be required depending on locationExperience:Proven experience as an E&I Technician, Maintenance Technician, or similar role in industrial or manufacturing environmentsHands-on experience with electrical systems, control systems, automation, and instrumentationExperience programming and troubleshooting PLCs and related HMI/SCADA systemsTechnical Skills:Strong understanding of electrical circuits, control systems, and instrumentationAbility to read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, and technical drawingsExperience with pneumatic and electronic equipmentProficiency in PLC programming, troubleshooting, and process automationSoft Skills:Strong problem-solving and analytical skillsAbility to collaborate effectively with operations, maintenance, engineers, and contractorsGood communication skills to document and report maintenance and programming activitiesProactive, safety-conscious, and detail-orientedCommitment to Our Culture:Our core values - Safety, Team, Customers, Growth, and Courage-guide our work every day and will help us achieve our vision: Covia is the leading minerals solutions provider, and through the passion and commitment of our people, we enable customer success-ensuring a sustainable future for our company.All Covia Team Members are expected to:Live the Life-Saving RulesBuild high-performing work teamsFocus on customersDemonstrate a growth mindsetDo the right thing, alwaysAt Covia, we strive for and support a diverse workforce as we firmly believe this lays the foundation of our success.
