We are currently accepting applications for a summer 2026 internship. APA's editorial team produces the award-winning flagship publication, the Monitor on Psychology, as well as newsletters such as Six Things, Practice Update, and Science Spotlight. This position reports to the managing editor of the Monitor. The Monitor, APA's #1 rated benefit, is read by all members and covers issues of importance to all types of psychologists, including practitioners, scientists, researchers, educators, consultants, and students.This internship offers a college student the opportunity to gain real-world experience in professional communications while exploring the intersection of psychology, neuroscience, neuropsychology, and editorial work. You'll work directly with experienced managing editors who produce content for a professional psychology and general audiences, learning the fundamentals of writing, editing, and content development in a virtual professional setting.Throughout the summer, you'll build practical skills through hands-on projects and tutorials while getting an inside look at how expert communicators translate complex neuroscience and psychological topics for diverse readers. This is a learning-focused role designed to give you meaningful experience and mentorship.
