Location: Shine Foods, Inc. (Sister company of Jessie Lord Bakery)Job Summary: The mixer is responsible for the production of dough making for daily production. Mixer oversees and operates the mixing machines by adding, weighing, and scaling ingredients into mixing equipment and ensures results comply with specified batch requirements by following a mixing recipe. Mixer will work with the Quality control department to ensure recipes are followed and correct ingredient amounts are being added to the mix. Mixers may utilize tools, blades and/or heavy equipment to move materials from inventory to production area. Mixer will report to the kitchen lead and production supervisor. Essential Job Functions:Responsible for the quality and product that is produced within the shift in line with the companies’ quality systems, processes, and procedures.Operates machinery, equipment, tools in a safe and proficient manner according to standards, guidelines, and instructions.Responsible for the setup, inspection, and test of all equipment prior to mixing dough.All dough must be prepared in a timely manner to keep the production lines running continuously and without interruption.Will perform cleaning of the mixing machines during changeovers.Responsible for completing mixing reports which includes keeping a record of dough batches completed for the day, along with appropriate ingredient lot numbers.Must be able to read and understand product weights, scales, and thermometers.Must be able to read and understand product specifications established by Shine Foods and recognize deviations from those specifications.Performs clean-up activities as assigned.May be assigned other duties by production supervisor/lead as required.Food Safety Responsibilities:All employees are required to immediately report and assist in the elimination or control of any food safety issues they observe to their supervisor.Following proper time and temperature control, storage practices and procedures for thawing, prepping, and mixingPreventing food contamination and cross-contamination.Always follows GMPs policies. Language Requirement:Ability to understand written and oral direction in English and/or Spanish.Physical Requirements: Occasionally care and/or lift 50 lbsMust have the ability to routinely and frequently stand, stoop, bend, and climb. Schedule:1st shift Occasionally be available to work on weekends.
