Salary: $24.31 - $27.84 HourlyLocation : Sheboygan, WIJob Type: Full TimeJob Number: BS-2026-022Department: Building ServicesOpening Date: 03/23/2026 Purpose and Summary Play a key role in keeping County facilities safe, functional, and well-maintained. This position supports the operation, maintenance, and repair of buildings, equipment, and grounds by following established procedures, technical specifications, and supervisor direction. Essential DutiesWorking under the Facilities Manager and the Shift Lead, you'll contribute to a wide range of building and grounds maintenance activities, including:Building Systems & OperationsOperate and monitor boilers to ensure consistent heating and hot water supplyTest and treat boiler systems; perform minor repairs and prepare units for inspectionMaintain heating, cooling, ventilation, and refrigeration systems, including electronic controlsInspect, install, and repair plumbing systems, fixtures, and pipingMaintain electrical systems, circuits, and equipmentRepairs & MaintenanceRepair and maintain furniture, fixtures, and building components using hand and power toolsPerform carpentry, painting, varnishing, caulking, and basic cement workPerform locksmith duties as neededGrounds & Exterior CareMaintain landscaping, including mowing lawns, planting, and caring for flowers and shrubsRemove snow and ice from sidewalks, driveways, and parking areasClean exterior windows and assigned areasGeneral Operations SupportTransport and dispose of waste and recyclablesUnload and stock materials and suppliesMaintain and refuel vehicles and equipmentFollow preventive maintenance programs and complete work ordersRespond to emergency maintenance callsSecure buildings and offices as neededAdditional DutiesPerform other related tasks as assigned to support departmental operations Qualifications High school diploma or equivalentTechnical training or hands-on experience in building maintenance or related tradesWorking knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC/refrigeration, and general mechanicsFamiliarity with applicable codes and safety standardsBasic computer skills for work orders, systems, and communicationValid driver's licenseAbility to follow written and verbal instructions and work independently Work Environment & Physical RequirementsThis role involves both indoor and outdoor work in all seasons and weather conditions.
