Job Description Mask and unmask aerospace components: Accurately apply and remove masking materials such as tapes, films, plugs, and caps on intricate aerospace parts. Interpret technical drawings: Review and follow engineering drawings, work orders, and technical specifications to determine masking requirements. Surface preparation: Clean and prepare parts to ensure all surfaces are free from contaminants prior to masking. Utilize precision tools: Use hand tools including razor blades, knives, and calipers to trim and apply masking materials with precision. Conduct quality inspections: Perform thorough inspections before and after masking to verify proper application and identify any defects. Handle hazardous materials: Safely manage chemicals and solvents in accordance with OSHA guidelines and internal safety protocols. Document processes: Accurately log masking operations, materials used, and related processing details in work orders and production records. Maintain tools and workspace: Ensure tools and equipment are clean, organized, and in proper working condition. Maintain a tidy and efficient work environment. Cross-functional collaboration: Coordinate with painters, engineers, and quality assurance teams to ensure production schedules and quality standards are met. Job Requirements Attention to detail: High level of accuracy in detailed and repetitive tasks. Manual dexterity: Excellent hand-eye coordination and steady hands for intricate work. Technical comprehension: Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and production documents. Problem-solving: Ability to resolve masking challenges on parts with complex geometries. Team-oriented: Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across departments. Industry experience: Prior experience in aerospace, automotive, or other precision manufacturing environments is preferred. Education: Bilingual in English & Spanish Safety awareness: Knowledge of proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) in industrial settings.
