Primary Job Title: AV Event Engineer Alternate / Related Job Titles: • Audio Visual Engineer • AV Systems Engineer • Event Technology Engineer • AV Support Engineer Location & Onsite Flexibility: San Francisco, CA Onsite Contract Details Position Type: Contract Contract Duration: Approximately 11 months Start: As Soon As Possible Pay Rate: $43.10/hour Job Summary Our client is seeking an experienced AV Event Engineer with deep expertise in conference room AV systems and live event support. This role supports both on-site and remote offices nationwide, ensuring seamless AV operations across conference rooms, event spaces, and corporate events. The ideal candidate brings strong technical knowledge, proactive troubleshooting abilities, and leadership skills, thriving in a fast-paced, high-growth environment while continuously optimizing AV experiences and processes. Key Responsibilities Coordinate end-to-end AV support (on-site and remote) for: Conference room systems (Google Meet, Zoom, Logitech, Q-SYS) Audio/video equipment, projectors, displays, and digital signage Live-streamed corporate events (All Hands, webinars, town halls) Design, implement, and maintain AV and IT support processes, including audits and performance optimizations Collaborate with IT, Facilities, Events, and Workplace Operations teams to deliver high-impact AV solutions Perform advanced troubleshooting of AV hardware and systems (Chrome, Logitech, Q-SYS modules) Support and operate live in-office broadcast events, rotating between audio, video, and graphics roles Maintain and operate live event equipment including LED walls, PTZ cameras, confidence monitors, and AV control systems Manage AV-related software deployments, upgrades, and maintenance Resolve escalated AV and IT support requests via the Helpdesk system Support remote and hybrid employees with reliable video conferencing solutions Track and manage AV hardware inventory, recommending upgrades or replacements Maintain clean, organized, and well-managed AV spaces (storage rooms, AV booths) Travel to domestic and international sites as required by business needs Required Skills & Qualifications 5+ years of experience in IT and/or AV support, including senior-level troubleshooting and project leadership Advanced knowledge of AV equipment troubleshooting (cameras, microphones, amplifiers, displays, AV-over-IP systems) Expertise with enterprise conference room technologies (Zoom Rooms, Google Meet, Crestron, Q-SYS, or similar) Strong understanding of networking concepts (switches, routers, WiFi, VLANs) Hands-on experience managing Apple products using enterprise tools (JAMF or similar) Advanced troubleshooting experience with macOS, Apple hardware, and peripherals Experience with ticketing and workflow systems (JIRA Service Desk, Confluence, or similar) Ability to lift and handle 50+ lbs of AV equipment as required Preferred Skills Experience supporting corporate events or large-scale meetings Strong leadership, collaboration, and mentoring abilities Excellent multitasking, organization, and time-management skills Benefits Medical, Vision, and Dental Insurance Plans 401(k) Retirement Fund About Our Client Our client is a peer-to-peer ridesharing platform offering on-demand and multimodal transportation solutions.
