Job#: 3020622 Job Description: Purchasing Agent Location: Phoenix, AZ Schedule: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM Monday - Friday Travel: ~10% domestic; local travel within Phoenix + 3-4 trips annually to McKinney, TX Position Summary The Purchasing Agent manages procurement activities across multiple manufacturing locations, with a strong focus on MRO purchasing, service contracts, and shop supply replenishment. This role requires strong contract negotiation skills, excellent SOW writing capabilities, and the ability to work effectively within an ERP environment. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, organized, and comfortable supporting a fast‑paced, multi‑site manufacturing operation. If you or anyone that you know would be interested in this position or would like to learn more, please apply now or send all resumes to [email protected] Workload Breakdown * 40% - Services Procurement * 40% - MRO & Shop Supplies (paper towels, gloves, consumables) * 20% - Capital Expenditures (equipment, testing devices) Key Responsibilities: Procurement & Purchasing * Manage purchasing activities * Execute MRO procurements and ensure timely delivery of supplies and services. * Handle shop supply purchasing and consumable replenishment. * Support capital expenditure purchases and equipment sourcing. Contracting & Negotiation * Lead contract negotiations to secure favorable pricing and terms. * Draft, review, and manage Statements of Work (SOWs) for service‑based procurements. * Maintain strong vendor relationships and evaluate supplier performance. ERP & Documentation * Process purchase orders and maintain accurate purchasing records. * Utilize ERP systems for purchasing activities (Oracle preferred; any ERP acceptable). * Ensure compliance with internal purchasing policies and approval workflows. Cross‑Functional Collaboration * Partner with operations, maintenance, engineering, and site leadership to forecast needs. * Provide purchasing support during periodic site visits. * Communicate clearly and professionally with internal and external stakeholders. Required Qualifications * Bachelor's degree * 3-7+ years of procurement experience, including: * MRO procurement * Service contracting * SOW writing * Strong contract negotiation * Experience in a manufacturing environment. * ERP purchasing experience (Oracle preferred). * Strong written communication Preferred Qualifications * Experience supporting multi‑site purchasing operations. * Exposure to capital equipment procurement. * Strong analytical and vendor‑management skills.
