The ideal candidate will have a strong background in music education and choral direction, with the ability to engage and inspire diverse learners. This role requires a commitment to fostering musical growth, vocal development, and a love for choral performance among students. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement a comprehensive choir curriculum aligned with school and state standards. Direct and lead school choir rehearsals and performances. Teach vocal techniques, sight-reading, ear training, and music theory. Organize and prepare students for school concerts, competitions, and community performances. Create an inclusive and engaging learning environment for students of diverse backgrounds and abilities. Collaborate with other faculty and administration to integrate music into school programs. Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback and guidance. Maintain and manage choir materials, equipment, and resources. Qualifications & Skills: Bachelor's Degree in Education (Music Required). State Teaching Certification (if required). Experience directing choirs at the K-8 level. Strong piano and conducting skills. Knowledge of diverse choral repertoire and vocal techniques. Excellent communication and classroom management skills. Ability to inspire and motivate students of varying skill levels. Strong organizational and leadership abilities. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with competition preparation and adjudication. Familiarity with integrating technology into music education. Previous experience working in a school or community choir setting. Salary: Sandridge SD 172 offers a very competitive salary based on experience and education:The District will offer up to seven years of credit on the salary schedule for verified experience in a public school.
