Job Title: Automation EngineerJob Description We are seeking a skilled engineer with experience in robotics, controls, and automation to join our team. The primary focus will be on setting up and troubleshooting robotics in the Stamping and Truck Final areas. This role requires the ability to independently troubleshoot and evaluate equipment for quality and delivery improvements. Responsibilities + Independently troubleshoot robotics and automation equipment, including Durr, Fanuc, PLC5, and Control Logix. + Continuously evaluate equipment for quality and delivery improvements. + Coordinate the automation team for current and future actions. + Troubleshoot and repair manufacturing automation systems. + Program new robotic functions and tasks, and debug equipment as necessary. + Troubleshoot PLC, robot, and other automation issues. + Update program backups for automation. + Program new installations of paint tooling and conveyor systems. + Reprogram automation for engineering changes and improvements. + Coordinate automation campaigns. Essential Skills + Experience with Rockwell Allen Bradley PLC5 and Control Logix software. + Ability to program from scratch and edit existing programming. + Fanuc robot experience. + 2+ years of automation experience in manufacturing, preferably in the automotive industry. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is preferred but not required. + Experience with manufacturing automation troubleshooting, setup, and repair. + Ability to work in a union environment. Work Environment The work environment includes climate-controlled offices, but the floor is not climate-controlled, making it hot in summer and cold in winter. The setting is a typical fast-paced and stressful automotive plant with a union shop. The culture is 'work hard, play hard,' and you must be ready to handle multiple tasks and urgent breakdowns. You will work with other controls engineers and technicians and must be open to all shifts and 50-60 hour work weeks. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Kansas City, MO. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $51.17 - $51.17/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
