Guided by the University's mission and strategic priorities, this role supports students through self-discovery, career exploration, experiential learning, advanced education planning, and job and internship searching. The Career Advisor will lead career development efforts within the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, delivering tailored services aligned with specific majors.Rooted in UW-Green Bay's core values-Advance Fearlessly, Empower Success, Provision Access, Build Community, and Express Gratitude-the Career Advisor designs engaging programs and workshops, facilitates networking and employer partnerships, connects students to work-based learning experiences, and collaborates closely with faculty, staff, employers, and community partners across Northeast Wisconsin. Reflecting UW-Green Bay's collaborative, inclusive, and future-focused culture, this position plays a key role in helping students and communities thrive-because at UW-Green Bay, Together, We Rise.Key Job Responsibilities:Participates in the campus-wide career services community, providing input to leadership regarding the development of advising, recruitment, and co/curricular programs offered by the school/college/unitMay identify and maintain a professional network of employers or other stakeholders to facilitate career exploration and employment opportunities for studentsResponds to questions and provides information regarding student services, policies, procedures, and employment preparationDevelops and delivers career development programming and resource materials across various mediums to provide education to studentsBuilds intentional relationships with students, faculty members, and employers to introduce and connect students to work-based learning experience.Educates or advises students and recent alumni individually or in groups through various mediums about career exploration, self-assessment, skills, materials development, and career decisionsDepartment:Career ServicesCompensation:Minimum compensation of $47,000. We participate in the Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS), where employer contributions begin immediately, and employees are fully vested after 5 years of service. The Universities of Wisconsin also provides supplemental retirement savings programs including a 403(b) and Deferred Compensation. In addition, eligible employees receive several types of paid leave benefits, which are prorated for employees working less than 100%. This includes 9 legal holidays, 36 hours of personal holiday and between 96-130 hours of sick leave annually and paid parental leave.
