YOUTH WORSHIP LEADEROverview/Purpose: The role of the Youth Worship Leader is to oversee and lead the worship ministry of Heights Youth, over multiple locations, by helping people encounter Jesus, engage in their faith with Jesus, and empower them to serve Jesus. This will require a firm grasp of the beliefs, values and strategy of Heights Church. This position will be under the direction and leadership of the Worship Pastor.The Youth Worship Leader will be responsible for the following: 1) Modeling Biblical PrioritiesResponsible for upholding Biblical priorities and core values of Heights Church. The Youth Worship Leader should represent a growing personal relationship with Christ. They will strive to fulfill his or her purpose in life and ministry while demonstrating integrity in words, relationships, and actions.A passion for GodResponsible for upholding biblical priorities and core values of Heights ChurchModels and upholds Heights Staff Family Values (Humility, Heart, Honest, Helpful, Health, Hardworking and Hospitable)A servants heartModels a strong and growing relationship with ChristParticipating in a Heights life group on a regular basisDisplays Christian leadership by using foundational spiritual qualitiesDisplays ministry skills, such as the ability to effectively communicate Scripture, managing or coaching others, motivating others and graciously correctly others when necessaryDisplays working knowledge of stewardship and demonstrates fiscal responsibility2) Leadership of Serve Team MembersSuccess in this role will be best accomplished by prioritizing an investment in ministry leaders. Responsible for creating an environment that recruits, develops, and empowers worship ministry leaders:Communicate a clear vision and wins for staff and serve teams on a regular basis given from the Next Gen Pastor, Worship Director and/or Production DirectorCreate an atmosphere that will capture that heart and energy of the youthEngage the youth by creating an exciting and uplifting worship experienceBuild, recruit and equip others to play instruments, sing and lead worship as a part of the youth worship teamOversee systems for scheduling, training, and care of serve team membersUtilize Planning Center for service flow to produce and communicate all aspects of all youth services and events (pre-service team huddle, service prep, execution of service)Provide staff and serve teams with current worship ministry best practices given from the Worship Director/PastorCreate and continuously improve follow-up methods to ensure that youth and adult serve teams are plugged in to Heights Church3) Team Player for Youth WorshipResponsible for creating worship engaging experiences and life-changing environments for youth:Attend and actively participate in weekly Youth team meetings over multiple locationsFunction as a team member who care for the team as a whole and seeks to help where/when neededAttend weekly office days with the worship ministry for team unity and relationship buildingAttend meetings and collaborate with ministry leads to plan, schedule, budget and carry out the vision of the worship ministry over multiple locationsSet-Up/Tear-DownOversee any stage setup and teardown required for Youth services/eventsQUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS Highly relational (caring and personable on an individual level)Effective communication skills with team members (interpersonal and group)Theologically and doctrinally aligned with Heights Church on important mattersDemonstrates evidence of a Christ-like attitude in words and actions, with humilityDemonstrates a heart and passion for worship ministry to youthSelf-starter - able to work independently in a disciplined mannerDemonstrated innovative and creative approach to ministryAdministrative and organizational skills with attention to detailAbility to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectivelyMust be versatile and collaborative team player with the ability to work independentlyDemonstrated ability to project a professional Heights image through in-person, video, email, and phone interactionProven ability to use good judgement and ability to maintain confidentialityPerform other duties as assigned by supervisorPHYSICAL DEMANDS:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
