Supervisor, Propulsion ManufacturingDepartment: ManufacturingEmployment Type: Full TimeLocation: Redondo Beach Compensation: $135,000 - $175,000 / yearDescriptionAs a Propulsion Supervisor at Impulse, you will oversee a multidisciplinary team responsible for liquid rocket engines, thrusters, and propulsion subsystems. This position is highly hands-on, balancing team leadership with technical depth. ResponsibilitiesLead, coach, and mentor propulsion technicians, and operatorsAssign tasks, set priorities, and ensure projects align with company milestonesSupervise design, analysis, assembly, and testing of engines, thrusters, and fluid systemsDrive continuous improvement in manufacturability, reliability, and cost efficiencyCoordinate propulsion test campaigns (component- and system-level hot-fires)Ensure proper procedures, instrumentation, and safety protocols are in placeSupport troubleshooting, anomaly resolution, and root-cause investigationsMinimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalency certificate8+ years of experience in rocket propulsion systems (liquid engines, thrusters, or fluid systems)6+ years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role6+ years of demonstrated knowledge of liquid propulsion fundamentals: injectors, turbomachinery, ignition, cooling, valves, and fluid handlingPreferred Skills and ExperienceBachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or related engineering discipline6+ years of hands-on experience with cryogenic or hypergolic propellantsDemonstrated experience in a high-volume or production environmentFamiliarity with aerospace standards (NASA, DoD, FAA, ASME, ASTM)Additional Information:Compensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity. In addition to base salary, for full-time hires, you may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of stock options, and access to medical, vision & dental coverage as well as access to a 401(k) retirement plan. Impulse Space's spacecraft manufacturing business is subject to U.S. export regulations including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Export Administration Regulations (EAR). This position requires applicants to be either U.S. Persons (i.e., U.S. citizen, U.S. national, lawful permanent U.S. resident (green card holder), an individual granted asylum in the U.S., or an individual admitted in U.S. refugee status) or persons eligible to obtain an export license from the U.S. Departments of State, Commerce, or other applicable U.S. government agencies.
