Lead Facility Maintenance Technician (I&E Tech)Valicor Environmental Services is looking for a Lead Facility Maintenance Technician to work in our Adamsville, Alabama facility. The Instrumentation & Electrical (I&E) Maintenance Technician is responsible for the installation, calibration, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of electrical, instrumentation, and control systems used in wastewater treatment and Central Waste Treatment (CWT) operations. This role ensures reliable plant operation, regulatory compliance, and safe handling of industrial and hazardous wastewater streams.Key ResponsibilitiesInstall, maintain, and calibrate field instrumentation including flow meters (magnetic, ultrasonic), level transmitters (ultrasonic, radar, pressure), pressure, temperature, and conductivity sensors, pH, ORP, turbidity, TSS, and dissolved oxygen analyzersPerform loop checks, signal verification, and instrument calibration per SOPs and regulatory requirementsTroubleshoot PLC, SCADA, and DCS systems (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Modicon)Maintain control panels, I/O racks, VFDs, MCCs, and motor startersAssist with control logic modifications under engineer supervisionPerform preventive and corrective maintenance on motors, pumps, blowers, centrifuges, and mixers, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), Power distribution systems (low and medium voltage)Diagnose electrical faults using schematics, P&IDs, and one-line diagramsPerform conduit installation, wire pulling, terminations, and panel wiringMaintain grounding, bonding, and lightning protection systemsEnsure compliance with NEC, NFPA 70E, and plant electrical safety standardsSupport treatment processes including equalization, neutralization, precipitation, biological treatment (aerobic/anaerobic systems), dissolved Air Flotation (DAF),Maintain analyzers used for regulatory compliance monitoringAssist operations staff during process upsets or equipment failuresEnsure critical alarms and interlocks function correctlyFollow all OSHA, EPA, and site-specific safety policiesMaintain documentation for calibrations, maintenance, and repairsUpdate calibration logs, maintenance records, and asset management systems (CMMS)Assist with development and revision of SOPsParticipate in root cause analysis (RCA) and reliability improvement effortsRecommend equipment upgrades and process improvementsQualifications/RequirementsHigh school diploma or GED (technical degree preferred)3+ years experience as an I&E or Electrical Technician in WWTP, CWT or industrial treatment facilities, chemical, refinery, or manufacturing environmentsStrong knowledge of Industrial instrumentation and controlsElectrical systems up to 480V (higher a plus)PLC/SCADA systemsAbility to read P&IDs, electrical schematics, and loop diagramsValid driver's licenseAbility to work in industrial environments with exposure to chemicals, wastewater, odors, noise, and outdoor conditionsAbility to lift up to 50 lbs and climb ladders/stairsOn-call availability for plant emergencies and outagesTroubleshooting & diagnosticsAttention to detail PreferredAssociate degree in Instrumentation, Electrical Technology, or related fieldJourneyman Electrician or Instrument Technician certificationWastewater Operator License (state-specific)Experience with hazardous waste and RCRA-regulated facilitiesNFPA 70E trainingSuccessful candidates must pass the Pre-Screening including a criminal background check, drug screen, and MVR check (if applicable for the position).About Valicor:Headquartered in Monroe, Ohio.
