ABOUT USZEST Preparatory Academy Charter School is a K-5 charter school in Douglasville, GA (Metro Atlanta area). The third component, leadership, teaches essential habits of leadership so students can apply real world skills to their overall growth and development. ZEST Prep intentionally teaches leadership skills beginning in kindergarten. JOB EXPECTATIONSThe Classroom Teacher is responsible for all aspects of leading and facilitating learning in ZEST Preparatory Academy classrooms. Duties include, but are not limited to:INSTRUCTIONAL LEADERSHIPServe as lead instructor for classroom instructionWrite and implement lesson plans for all academic subjectsImplement a student-centered, problem-based curriculumDemonstrate the ability to embrace differentiated instructional approaches to learningCollaborate with peers to plan units, examine assessments, and student dataEngage in continuous professional development and shared learning with other school staffCollaborate with students and families to create a Customized Learning Plan for each studentCommunicate with families regularly regarding student progress (via phone, email, and/or communication apps).Demonstrate a sound ability to create a positive learning environment with appropriate classroom managementCOMMUNITY COLLABORATIONBuild and maintain positive relationships with studentsWork collaboratively with a diverse group of school colleagues, parents, and community membersActively participate on a school-based committeeAttend school & community eventsSupervise field experiences and other school programsAncillary Duties:Include, but are not limited to:Demonstrate positive support for the Board, administrative team, school staff, and the communityAttend after school activitiesAssist with student arrival and dismissalRequired to have prompt, regular attendance and be available to work on-sitePerform other duties as assigned by leadership team QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:Education:A Bachelor's degree in education or a related field from an accredited college or university; Master's degree preferredCertification or Licensure: Georgia SRT4-Certification in Early Childhood Education or related field (P-5) strongly preferredPassed the GACE in Early Childhood Education; Eligibility for out of state reciprocity through Georgia PSC (required)Willingness to obtain a reading, dyslexia, or gifted endorsement within two years of employmentExperience:Knowledge of Georgia Standards of ExcellenceKnowledge of the Georgia Milestones AssessmentThree years experience teaching 3rd, 4th, 5th grade (strongly preferred)Experience working with elementary aged students (strongly preferred)Charter school experience desirableRequirementsDemonstrated belief that all students can achieve high levels of academic achievementAbility to be flexible and adapt as needed Current authorization to work in the United StatesClear Criminal Background CheckGeorgia PSC Clearance CertificateCOMPENSATION AND BENEFITSCompetitive salary scale that is commensurate with experience.
