With our focus on innovation, teamwork, and professional growth, we offer a dynamic environment where your career can thrive.Position Summary:The Project Engineer assists the Project Manager and Management Team in managing all aspects of a construction project including the financial administration and cost reporting activities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:In conjunction with the Construction Manager, Bridges Manager, or Project Manager & Superintendent, participate in developing, maintaining and revising the project schedule Manages the relationship and work of assigned sub-contractors & suppliersMentors and guides less experienced Project EngineersCommunicates with owners about various project related matters and concernsDemonstrates, communicates, and reinforces all Company safety policies and proceduresPerforms additional assignments per supervisor's directionMay also perform the following duties depending on the size of the assigned projectBased on quantity takeoffs, manages the ordering of materials needed to successfully execute the projectAssists with pre-construction activities as needed: construction planning and design; interpretation of design and drawings; prepare quantity takeoffsPrepares drawings and sketches to support construction work, change orders, estimates, etc.Manages verification of work-in-place quantities for invoicing/pay quantities; verifies accurate payment of subcontractors and material suppliersMaintains submittal logs and timely receipt and review of submittals and shop drawingsAssembles construction financial data; monitors costs; tracks costs for force accountsMaintains job costing system and updates systems to reflect forecasts; creates margin reportingEnsures craft time cards are completed accurately, reflecting hours worked and tasks worked on; assigns cost codes to all purchases, time cards, contracts, equipment time and any other item involving costMaintains as-built drawings; posts RFI, bulletin and ASI as appropriateMaintains RFI logs and timely response to job questionsAssists with constructability reviews and value engineering functionsDevelops, implements and administers project engineering procedures and other work documents; tracks and logs documentationManages and maintains all safety and quality recordsDevelops, maintains, and updates project CPM scheduleAbility develop and manipulate resource and cost loaded CPM schedules for reporting and planning purposesPrepares project status reports and participates in project status meetings; developments of meeting minutesAssists in project close-out activitiesMay support estimates as needed Experience/ Qualifications:4-year degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management3-5 years of experience in similar role, Bridge construction experience preferredPE PreferredWork Environment:This position is both outdoors and indoorsThis work environment may involve minimal to moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors and/or loud noisesExposure to moving mechanical partsNoise levels in the outdoor work environment is usually loudAbility to wear and work in personnel protective equipment including but not limited to hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, ankle-supporting safety-toed work boots and a safety vest.
