ChemResearch is a people-first culture employer that promotes growth and innovation while providing a challenging, exciting, fast-paced work environment with competitive pay and great benefits.SummaryThe Electroless Nickel Operator is responsible for all processes associated with the electroless nickel plating process including chemical bath maintenance.Job DutiesRacks plus process electroless nickel plating line to process aerospace grade parts through a series of chemical tanks to clean, rinse, and deposit nickel on parts to improve.Set and maintain chemical processing equipment plus baths within operational parameters.Cautiously load racks in plating tanks while ensuring proper temperature and chemistry.Compute length of plating cycle and monitor timing.Observe gauges and adjusts valves on tanks to maintain required operating specification (pH, etc).Read blueprints and traveler documents to produce and move products according to customer specifications and to verify that all previous operations were completed.Follow work flow dispatch as required while making allowances for schedule changes in response to Hot Jobs and customer requirements.Immediately report any and all quality issues with parts and chemical baths to supervisor and/or Quality Engineers.Assist Quality and Lab Personal in running chemical process evaluations.Perform preventative maintenance on all department equipment. Maintain a safe work environment.Use all required Personal Protective Equipment.Performs minor equipment maintenance such as cleaning, rack stripping, changing filters, etc.May be required to perform more than one operation at a time as directed by the Department Supervisor.Inventories, receives and signs for incoming plating material and supplies.Works with a positive attitude and reports all questions or problems to department supervisor.Performs other miscellaneous job duties and related functions as needed.Educational and Work Experience RequirementsHave a thorough knowledge of process chemistry.High school diploma or general education degree (GED); three months or more related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and interpret bar graphs.Ability to operate and maintain equipment in a safe manner at all times. Five or more years experience as an electroplater in the aerospace & defense industry.Two years' experience in the Wet Process department preferably or related chemical environment.Essential Functions of the JobAbility to lift 50 poundsAbility to alternate standing and sitting for 8 / 12 hoursAbility to see or correct to 20/20Ability to hearAbility to distinguish color (pass a colorblind test)Ability to communicate verbally and in written formAbility to stoop and bendAbility to use arms and handsWorking Hours are:Monday thru Friday 2:00pm-10:30pm
