FISCAL MANAGER I

Highly responsible, professional accounting and administrative work directing financial activities for the Department. Ensures compliance with applicable federal, state, County, and municipal requirements as they relate to various fiscal activities. Supervises and directs the collection, interpretation, recording, and distribution of financial records and reports. Maintains the financial aspects of the Department's Capital Improvement Reporting System and reconciles amounts with County Advantage System. Specific duties include: Calculating and entering project budgets; identifying funding sources for new projects; encumbering contracts in Advantage; closing out projects and complying with reporting requirements for County Fixed Assets and the annual financial audit. Manages the delivery of asset management plans that implement the asset management strategy and deliver the asset management objectives. Exercises independent judgment in performing various financial analyses. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or closely related field; minimum of four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in financial management, including two (2) years of experience in general management, which includes supervisory work. Equivalencies: Related Master's Degree OR current Certified Public Accountant (CPA)/Certified Internal Auditor certification (CIA) (copy of Certification must be uploaded to online application by 5:00 P.M. on the closing date) AND two (2) years of related experience that includes two (2) years of experience in general management which includes supervisory work; unrelated Bachelor's Degree/related Associate's Degree AND six (6) years of related experience, including two (2) years of experience in general management which includes supervisory work; graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification AND eight (8) years of related experience, including two (2) years of experience in general management which includes supervisory work. PREFERENCE FOR ONE (1) YEAR OF EXPERIENCE IN/WITH: Government or commercial utility. Also desirable: Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
