Role: Mechanical Engineer Location: Gilbert, ArizonaThe Design Engineer will be responsible for: Interfacing with Program Managers to understand program schedule and provide estimated completion dates for tasks. Create solid models using CAD software (Solidworks or NX preferred) with little to no guidance. Creation of Engineering Drawings and applying GD&T principles per ASME Y14.5. Drawings will be reviewed by a Lead Engineer or Engineering Manager prior to release. Interface with Electrical Engineering and Systems Engineering departments to understand the design constraints and layout of Printed Circuit Boards in order to properly analyze the designs. Perform Thermal Analysis of electronics box assemblies (SolidWorks or Ansys preferred but not required) Perform Structural Analysis utilizing FEA Software (Ansys preferred but not required) Present design and analysis results to customers at major technical reviews such as PDR and CDR. Presentations will be reviewed by a Lead Engineer or Engineering Manager prior to delivery to the customer. Manufacturing support. Job Requirements: Bachelor's of Science in Mechanical Engineering 5 to 10 years of experience in creation of solid models using a 3D CAD Software (Solidworks preferred) 4 to 10 years of experience creating engineering drawings utilizing GD&T principals per ASME Y14.5. 4 to 10 years of experience performing structural analysis using Finite Element Models and Finite Element Analysis software. 4 to 10 years of experience performing thermal analysis in a computer aided environment. Experience with creating engineering reports and presentations that contain analysis results and design details as well as experience presenting that data to customers. This position requires access to United States Export Controlled information. Skills And Certifications Strong analysis skills / knowledge BSME Electronics packaging
