Job Description

Purpose:To assist the Activities Director in the planning and coordination of programs and activities that are varied, reflect the interests, values, and beliefs of the residents and provides life-enriching opportunities for residents and the community.Essential Functions:Job Functions:Assist in the Development and promotion of an Activities Program designed to promote the residents' active involvement with each other, their families, and the community providing social, physical, intellectual and recreational activities in a planned, coordinated and structured mannerAssist in the Preparation of monthly community newsletterPreparation of monthly community activity calendarAssist in obtaining a historical and interest profile for each residentAssist in actively developing and implementing a volunteer program for resident activitiesCoordinate with caterers, entertainers, decorators and others for scheduled eventsFacilitate socialization among residentsChaperone activities outside the communityDrive the Company van for residents' activitiesParticipate actively with marketing on combined eventsParticipate as directed in the leasing and marketing process for potential residentsAssist and help with the decorating of the community for special events, seasons and holidaysAny other tasks, assignments, projects or requests as deemed by managementAny other tasks, assignments, projects, or requests as needed by managementQualifications:Must be 18 years of age or olderMust meet State specific training in recreational therapyMust read, write, speak and understand EnglishPatience, tact, enthusiasm and positive attitude toward the elderlyMust have upper body strength adequate to bend, lift, shift, move, and/or assist in moving articles of more than twenty-five poundsMust be able to squat, reach and stretch without distress. Must be able to tolerate extended periods walking, standing
