PURPOSE OF THE JOBMortgage Loan Officers are responsible soliciting new business, evaluating, authorizing, and recommending the approval of real estate loans. Mortgage Loan Officers advice borrowers on financial and payment methods and must meet established loan quality and annual production goals.This sale driven position requires individuals to continuously build and maintain a strong network of business relationships which will serve as a permanent source for referrals of new opportunities.MAIN DUTIES OF THE JOBHandle customer inquiries concerning acquisition or refinance of real estate loansOriginate application request for first mortgage loans, process loans through the required underwriting system for the loan type, and prepares package for processingProvide consultation to clients regarding all other bank products and servicesMake referrals to appropriate staff (retail banker, financial advisor, commercial relationship manager, cash management officer, etc.) related to client needsMake suggestions to residential real estate lending manager regarding mortgage lending policy and procedure enhancementsAttend loan closings to include representing the Bank in disbursing the transaction and keeping informed of all matters pertaining to the closing of a real estate loanRepresent and assist Home Bank at community, civic trade functions or other special events throughout the year Develop and maintain successful relationships with realtors, builders and other business referral sources that will generate mortgage production loansReview and update credit and loan filesMeet mortgage loan operational standards by contributing mortgage loan information to strategic plans and reviews; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; identifying mortgage loan system improvements.Adhere to all federal, state, and company regulations relating to mortgage lendingMust market, promote and recommend loan products and services utilizing various sales techniques.Required to meet annually established closing volume goalsWHAT WILL YOU NEED TO SUCCEEDBachelor's degree in business, finance or related field or equivalent work experience preferredNMLS registration is requiredMinimum two years of experience in secondary market lendingMust have a working knowledge of conventional and government lendingMust have an established professional relationship with the real estate community Must have a proven history of mortgage loan originationExceptional customer service, written and verbal communication skillsMust have basic computer skills and knowledge including experience with Microsoft OfficeA comprehensive mathematical aptitude to calculate various data including but not limited to percentages, volume, interest, discounts, commissions, proportions.Must have proven experience in outside salesHOME BANK IS AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYERGOOD CREDIT IS A MUSTCREDIT REPORT IS REQUIRED FOR EMPLOYMENT
