Legal Assistant - Litigation

The West Palm Beach office of Lippes Mathias LLP is seeking an experienced Litigation Legal Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will be key to supporting the administrative functions of the group. Responsibilities will include:Assisting with drafting, formatting and proofreading of legal documents, such as briefs and pleadings, as well as contractsCreate, organize and maintain electronic and hard copy filesSchedule appointments, meetings, and court hearings for attorneysHandle incoming and outgoing correspondence, including emails, phone calls, and mailPrepare memoranda and engagement letters to open new mattersCourt Filings, including Federal, State and LocalCalendaring and monitoring critical dates and deadlinesCreate accounting bills and expense reports as neededProvide other clerical support as neededOur ideal Legal Assistant will have:Minimum 5+ years of experience as a legal assistant Experience with commercial litigation Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and ExcelWorking knowledge of ProLaw, iManage or similar document management system a plusExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAccurate typing speed of 65+ wpmAbility to use discretion and handle confidential informationHighly organized, detail oriented, and able to multitask in a deadline-driven environmentAbility to work well with othersSalary range dependent on experience: $50,000 - $65,000 annually. This is a good faith estimate for the position based on location and minimum criteria.
