Insurance Specialist - Personal Lines

Position Title: Insurance SpecialistDepartment Name: Personal LinesLocation: West Trenton (Ewing Township), NJGeneral Summary:The primary responsibility of the Insurance Specialist is to accurately underwrite Personal Lines risks while serving as a first line of support to representatives on complex matters. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Essential functions of this job are listed below in order of priority. Regular and predictable onsite attendance is an essential function of the job.Accurately and effectively underwrite all types of Personal Lines business in all states.Provide support to internal customers regarding complex matters and escalated customer inquiries.Support the department through participation in meetings, projects, and initiatives as assigned.Hours: 9:45 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Tuesday to Friday, Saturday 8:30-4:45 p.m. (During the first 4-5 months of training, hours will be Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. - 4:45 p.m.).Required Qualifications: Knowledge, skills & abilities, experience, minimum & desired education, certification and/or license requirements.Bachelor's Degree in Risk Management and Insurance or pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Risk Management and Insurance required. Minimum of 18 months of experience in a Personal Lines Contact Center or as an NJM Licensed Account RepresentativeProficient in managing customer transactions across multiple lines, including automobile, property, and umbrella insuranceStrong understanding of personal lines insurance products and familiarity with underwriting principlesFully proficient with NJM's Personal Lines products, Policy Center, Billing Center, and departmental proceduresExcellent verbal and written communication skillsProven leadership capabilityHigh level of attention to detail and commitment to accuracySound judgment and decision-making abilitiesStrong time management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasksSolid analytical and problem-solving skillsEffective conflict resolution and call control techniquesProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Preferred Qualifications:Experience providing high quality customer service in a professional settingCompletion of general insurance courses such as AINS, AIS, API, or CPCU, are a plusProperty & Casualty Insurance License or Personal Lines Authority (The successful candidate will be required to obtain a Property & Casualty Insurance License as a condition of employment)Legal Disclaimer: NJM is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
