Position Type: MaintenanceDate Posted: 2/13/2026Location: MaintenanceDate Available: ASAPClosing Date: ASAPDescription: Maintenance Journeyman - HVAC TechnicianSummary of Position Function:The HVAC technician provides HVAC services with the responsibilities of repairing/replacing HVAC equipment.Though each maintenance journeyman will be assigned areas of responsibility, the maintenance journeyman will operate as a team to assure the effective and efficient operation of the maintenance shop.Pay Classification/Benefits Information:Salary Grade M50$21.53 - $35.95 per hourPay rate is determined by years of experienceDistrict Insurance packageAccess to the employee health clinicPosition Description: Assist in the responsibility for the efficient/safe operation and condition of boilers, heaters, furnaces, exhaust fans, air handlers, systems with variable speed drives, air conditioners, commercial equipment, water heaters, and chillers in the facilities owned or operated by the districtPerform heating and cooling repair work as assigned in a timely mannerPerform the routine maintenance of HVAC systems in district facilitiesRecommend/secure supplies and equipment for purchaseExamine district-owned and operated facilities regularly for purposes of preventive maintenance and safetyComplete classes and/or training to stay updated with new technologies.Demonstrate mechanical aptitude and the ability to read blueprints and schematicsEnsures that all HVAC units conform to safety codesReads and interprets blueprints, diagrams, and schematicsMaintains inventory of parts and suppliesParticipates in snow removal by driving snowplow vehicles and other snow removal equipmentRespond to emergency calls at night or on weekendsAttend department meetings and staff training as requested by supervisor(s)Additional Duties:Performs other related tasks as assigned by the principal(s).(The responsibilities listed above are representative of the position and are not intended to be an all-inclusive list of duties.)
