ASCO Equipment has career opportunities for Heavy Equipment Service Technicians in North Houston, Texas. Shop and Field positions available. Experience with Diesel Engines, Hydraulics or Advanced Electronics is preferred, however, entry-level skill set will be provided on the job training. The Service Technician is responsible for providing high-quality repair service on heavy equipment in order to meet customer needs in a responsive, friendly, educated, and timely manner. Service Technicians work with all departments to respond to the customer's needs. ASCO Equipment's pay scale rewards Service Technicians based on experience, technical skills and work ethic. Responsibilities:Troubleshoot and perform complex repairs correctly in the shop or field including pumps, hydraulics, engines, transmissions, HVAC, and electrical issues Perform preventative maintenance on equipment as schedule dictatesComplete work orders in a timely mannerOpen line of communication with service manager Maintain daily truck inspection logs while keeping a clean/orderly truck and work areaGood written & verbal communication skills needed for daily reportingGood computer literacy skills needed for transmitting information via emailRequirements2-3 year min. of shop/field heavy equipment troubling and repair Technical Certifications or Associate's Degree Must have strong understanding of mechanical and electrical theories and principlesAbility to work within set time parameters, multi-task, and follow proceduresAbility to work with limited supervision and a certain degree of independent judgementAbility to maintain positive working relationships and professionally manage difficult situationsMust be able to obtain a forklift licenseMust furnish tools suitable for Heavy Equipment repair Must have a valid driver's license with acceptable driving recordPhysical Expectations:Ability to maneuver around/crawl under equipment in order to conduct repairsAbility to work safely in all weather conditions Must be able to properly lift and handle heavy loads up to 55 lbs Ability to diagnose and trouble-shoot equipment visibly and audibly BenefitsWhy Join Team ASCO?Compensation & Benefits:Quarterly Tool Allowance, Safety boot allowance, and uniforms/coats providedPaid Training & Advancement Opportunities100% employer-paid health insurance, 401(k) + profit sharing, and paid holidaysSign-on bonus available, with amount based on qualifications and experience.Unique Perks:ASCO Children's Education Program: Financial assistance for employees' children pursuing higher educationOur Core Values:Honor GodDevelop PeoplePursue ExcellenceGrow ProfitablyBe Part of Something BiggerAt ASCO, we're not just servicing equipment - we're offering a career with a company that puts people first.
