LER TechForce is looking for Senior Project Manager. Project Manager (AMI) — Utilities Location: Los Angeles, CA (hybrid; field/site visits and occasional travel) Employment Type: Contract-to-hire or Direct Hire (open) Seniority: Senior (≈8–10 years relevant experience) About the Role You'll be responsible for the planning, execution, and reporting of an AMI program (smart meter deployment and integration) for a major utility. This is a hands-on coordination role working across field operations, vendors, IT/OT, and regulatory stakeholders. You'll ensure project controls are tight, maintain clean RAID (risks, assumptions, issues, dependencies) tracking, and produce crisp reports and dashboards that drive decisions. Key Responsibilities Manage the Project issues and risks, constraints, assumptions, dependencies, decisions, and communicate these issues and risks to interested parties and related Company projects. Manage and maintain a Company provided SharePoint site to manage the Project collaboration and communications. Maintain and report on installation schedules and deployment status. Monitor Company Contractors' operational day-to-day performance and contribution to the Project deliverables and escalate any identified issues to the Company. Monitor Company Contractors' deliverable creation, timing of delivery, and implementation status for the Project under a common scorecard. These activities will be supported by the following deliverables: 1. Daily activity log 2. Monthly Risk and Issue logs 3. Monthly project reporting logging on client SharePoint 4. Other deliverables as directed Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's in Engineering, Information Systems, Business, or related field or equivalent practical experience. 8-10 years in project management (utilities, telecom, or large field deployment programs preferred). Excellent knowledge of outsourced field install for large volumes of modules/meters with diverse geo terrain. Running requirements workshops with deployment stakeholders, ensuring SME expertise Expertise in strategic decisions for outsourced field install. Ability to create, and author RFP documents, and contract writing including SOW and master agreements / warranty / T&C's. Working knowledge of AMI concepts (smart meters, HES, MDMS, field deployment, network communications). Proficiency with MS Project (or Primavera), Excel (pivot tables, lookups), Power BI (or similar), SharePoint/Teams, and Jira/Azure DevOps for backlog/action tracking. Experience maintaining RAID logs, change logs, action-item trackers, and structured status reporting. Bilingual: Spanish & English—professional proficiency in both written and spoken communication. Valid driver's license; willingness to conduct periodic site/warehouse/field visits. Nice-to-Have Exposure to utility operations (AMI, distribution operations, outage/restoration, meter-to-cash). Familiarity with NISTIR 7628-aligned security practices for smart grid/AMI or general critical infrastructure cyber hygiene. PMP certification Basic SQL or data wrangling skills for ad hoc data validation/installation reconciliation. Prior vendor/SI coordination (scope, deliverables, defect triage).
