We are a company that invests in our people and values professionalism, accountability, and a strong work ethic.In Charge Electrical Services is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our Corporate Accounting team in Austin, TX. Reporting directly to the Corporate Controller, this is a junior-level accounting role focused on the day-to-day accuracy of the company's financial records. The ideal candidate has solid foundational accounting skills, a working knowledge of US GAAP, and the discipline to thrive in a full-time, fast-paced, in-office environment. This is a great opportunity for an accounting professional looking to build their career in a multi-state, high-growth service business.Key ResponsibilitiesGeneral Ledger & Journal EntriesPrepare, review, and post journal entries accurately and in accordance with US GAAPMaintain supporting documentation for all entries to ensure a clean and audit-ready general ledgerAssist with recurring and month-end accrual entriesAccount ReconciliationsPerform monthly reconciliations for assigned balance sheet accounts including cash, prepaid expenses, accrued liabilities, and intercompany accountsIdentify, investigate, and resolve reconciling items in a timely mannerEscalate unresolved discrepancies to the Controller with appropriate documentationFixed Assets and InventoryMaintain fixed asset schedules and asset details across multiple subsidiaries. Work with the fleet manager to ensure all transactions are accounted for. Assist with inventory adjustments and identify and work with branches to resolve inventory discrepanciesMonth-End & Year-End CloseSupport the monthly close process by completing assigned tasks within established deadlinesAssist the Controller in preparing close schedules and tracking the status of outstanding itemsSupport year-end close and assist in preparing schedules for the external audit and tax preparationFinancial Reporting & Other DutiesAssist in the preparation of internal financial reports and supporting schedulesGenerate, analyze and distribute internal reports on a weekly and monthly basisMaintain organized accounting files and records consistent with company policySupport special projects and ad hoc financial analyses as directed by the Controller or CFOAct as a point of support for our operations, HR, and branch staff across multiple states as neededQualificationsRequiredBachelor's degree in AccountingMinimum 5 years of hands-on accounting experienceIntermediate understanding of US GAAP, including accruals, fixed assets, and balance sheet managementDemonstrated ability to prepare journal entries and perform account reconciliations independentlyStrong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and data organization)Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlinesProfessional written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work on-site full-time at our Austin, TX corporate office (northwest side of town).PreferredExperience with Oracle NetSuite (ERP)Prior experience in a service-based or multi-location business environmentFamiliarity with multi-state accounting operationsCompensation and BenefitsIn Charge Electrical Services offers a straightforward and competitive compensation package:Base Salary: $55,000 - $70,000 annually (commensurate with experience)Medical Benefits: Company-sponsored medical insurance, plus dental and vision optionsRetirement: 401(k) plan with company matchPaid Time Off: 5 days of PTO in your first year, plus 9 paid company holidaysAdditional Benefits: Ancillary benefit options availableWork Environment: Stable, in-office team environment with direct access to senior leadership
