The ideal candidate is hands-on, customer-focused, and capable of leading complex infrastructure initiatives in production environments.This role works to achieve operational targets under minimal supervision. The ideal candidate must have the ability to influence others by explaining facts, policies and practices, and must exhibit a high degree of trustworthiness and discretion.This is a great role for someone who wants to truly partner with their executive and that department. Demonstrates integrity, accountability and transparency; upholds BKV standards, values and culture.RESPONSIBILITIESTypical job responsibilities of the Senior Network Engineer include, but are not limited to:Design, deploy, and maintain enterprise LAN, WAN, WLAN, and data center network infrastructuresLead core network modernization initiatives, including switch, router, firewall, and wireless refresh projectsArchitect highly available and redundant network designs using technologies such as vPC, HSRP, VRRP, GLBP, and dynamic routingDesign and support hub-and-spoke, SD-WAN, and hybrid cloud network architecturesConfigure and optimize routing protocols including OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, and static route redistributionSupport MPLS, DIA, Metro-E, ExpressRoute, VPN, microwave backhaul, and wireless point-to-point solutionsManage and troubleshoot enterprise switching platforms including Cisco Catalyst and Nexus environmentsDesign, implement, and support firewall infrastructureConfigure and maintain site-to-site VPNs, remote access VPNs (IPSec/SSL), and MFA integrationsIntegrate network security events with SIEM platforms for monitoring and complianceDesign and support enterprise and high-density wireless networksImplement secure wireless authenticationDeliver scalable guest wireless solutionsDesign and manage cloud networking in Microsoft Azure and AWSImplement hub-and-spoke cloud network architectures using VNets, VPCs, transit gateways, and peeringSupport ExpressRoute, cloud VPNs, and hybrid connectivity between on-prem and cloud environmentsMonitor network health using tools such as SolarWinds, Meraki Dashboard, Aruba Central, and CloudWatchPerform root cause analysis and troubleshooting for complex network incidentsParticipate in on-call rotations and support production environments with minimal downtimeMaintain accurate network documentation, diagrams, and operational standardsWork with telecom carriers and vendors to provision and manage circuits and servicesLead network-related projects from design through implementationEvaluate new technologies and solutions to improve performance, security, and cost efficiencyDrive cost optimization initiatives for network and connectivity servicesREQUIRED SKILLSUnderstanding of natural gas industry standards, market trends, emerging issues and regulatory requirementsStrong expertise in routing, switching, wireless, and data center technologiesHands-on experience with firewalls and VPN solutionsDeep understanding of TCP/IP networking, OSI model, and enterprise routing protocolsExperience supporting hybrid cloud environments (Azure and/or AWS)Proven ability to troubleshoot complex, multi-vendor network environmentsProficient in Microsoft Office and job-related applications.
