Summer Youth Employment Skills TrainerSchedule: May - Early/Mid-August, Monday-Thursday, 8:30 AM - 3:00 PMPosition OverviewBest Point Education & Behavioral Health is seeking Summer Youth Employment Skills Trainers to support young participants in their Summer Youth Work Experience. In this role, you will coach students directly at their worksite placements, helping them develop employability, communication, and job-readiness skills to ensure success throughout the program.Key ResponsibilitiesAdministrationComplete required paperwork, including workplace data tracking, task analyses, job-matching activities, and OOD documentation.Participate in vocational readiness team planning and review participant case records.Complete end-of-summer evaluations for all assigned participants.CollaborationCollaborate with agency programs and maintain strong partnerships with worksite hosts.Provide regular updates to the Summer Youth Supervisor.Represent the agency professionally and support strong customer service with school districts and internal teams.Engage with employers, families, job placement specialists, and school personnel to resolve training or employment issues.Report any Unusual Incidents (UI) or Major Unusual Incidents (MUI) promptly.Direct Client SupportProvide individualized coaching at host business worksites, including building and fading natural supports, identifying job accommodations, and using assistive technology.Train participants in grooming, hygiene, communication, interviewing, and workplace behavior.Address behavioral concerns and help students develop self-advocacy, teamwork, budgeting, and problem-solving skills.Implement participant-specific accommodations, interventions, and behavior plans.Provide behavioral support and crisis intervention when required.Model appropriate social skills and maintain a safe, age-appropriate learning environment.Quality AssuranceParticipate in adjusting behavior plans as needed.Accept and apply feedback to support professional growth.Use assessment data and resources to support individualized IPEs when applicable.Complete all required training and perform other duties as assigned.QualificationsRequired: High School Diploma or equivalent.Preferred: Associate's or Bachelor's degree, or Transition-to-Work Endorsement.Required Experience: Working with young adults on the Autism Spectrum or related disorders.Preferred Experience:Teaching/coaching roles (job readiness, rehabilitation counseling, job coaching, transition to adulthood).Experience with Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities (OOD) and community business partners.Technical Skills:Familiarity with Microsoft WindowsAbility to use Microsoft Office or Google Educational SuiteAvailability: Must be available for the entire summer session.Work Environment: Exposed to a combination of office, school, business partners, and mental health treatment environments. Exposed to children with behavior problems. May be exposed to shouting and clients who may be verbally and physically aggressive. May be exposed to blood or vomit and bodily fluids.Physical demands: The physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
