JOB SUMMARYThis position supports GIS activities for the City of Brookhaven using the Esri platform, City works, and other GIS applications. The ideal candidate is proactive, self-motivated, and team-oriented, with an interest in advancing GIS technology and delivering strong customer service to internal city departments.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS : GIS support (presentations, reports, and analysis) for City operations. Assist with the creation, editing, and maintenance of critical GIS datasets. ArcGIS app development (Dashboards, Field Maps, Story Maps, Experience Builder, Instant Apps, etc.) Provide support for City works administration, including assisting with administration, work orders, reporting, and data maintenance within the City's enterprise asset management system. Automating new workflows or updating existing workflows using Python or ArcGIS Interoperability (FME) Assist with field data collection using mobile GIS applicationsMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM WORK: Current Junior/Senior or Graduate level student enrolled in an accredited four-year degree college or university pursuing a Bachelor or Master's degree in GIS, geography, environmental science, anthropology, computer science or a related field of study OR a recent graduate within 1 year of degree received in GIS, geography, environmental science, anthropology, computer science or a related field of study Experience with ArcGIS Applications (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise, etc.) Possession of a valid driver's license preferred Ability to pass a background checkKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES: Knowledge of methods, standards, and techniques in GIS Passion to learn, accept responsibility, and develop leadership skills. Motivated self-starter able to work independently Data Utilization: Requires the ability to calculate and/or tabulate data. Competency in various computer software programs, such as Microsoft Office and Internet applications. Includes performing subsequent actions in relation to these computational operations Human Interactions: Requires the ability to work effectively in a team environment Verbal Aptitude: Requires the ability to utilize a wide variety of reference and descriptive data and information. Strong written and oral communication skills Mathematical Aptitude: Requires the ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division Functional Reasoning: Strong research and analytical skills.
