Maintenance Worker

Under general supervision, the Maintenance Worker performs routine inspection, preventive maintenance, and minor repairs of facility equipment, building systems, and grounds. Ensures the facility is maintained in a safe, clean, and operational condition in accordance with established policies, procedures, and union standards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities * Perform daily inspections of mechanical equipment and building systems; report unsafe or malfunctioning conditions and perform minor adjustments or repairs as required * Inspect and maintain heating systems, including boilers, pumps, fire and water sides, and heating units, particularly during summer maintenance periods * Assist with plumbing maintenance and repairs, including toilets, sinks, water fountains, sewer lines, and related fixtures * Assist in basic electrical maintenance and the upkeep of air conditioning units under appropriate supervision * Perform general building maintenance, including sheetrock installation, taping, painting, tile work, grouting, and wallpapering * Assist with wheelchair maintenance and minor repairs as required * Support groundskeeping operations, including snow removal and grass cutting, as assigned * Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and safe condition * Follow all safety regulations, infection control standards, and facility policies Minimum Qualifications * Minimum three (3) years of experience in building maintenance or a related trade * High School Diploma or equivalent required * Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general maintenance practices * Ability to follow written and verbal instructions * Ability to work independently and cooperatively as part of a team Physical Requirements * Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds * Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely
