Supervisor: Charles WeissHours Per Week: 40Location: On CampusApplication Deadline: Open until filledPosition Duration: Summer Term (10 weeks)Position OverviewThe Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry is seeking three motivated undergraduate students for an intensive, paid, 10-week summer research program focused on contributing to ongoing departmental chemistry research projects. The successful candidate will work closely under the mentorship of faculty to carry out experiments, maintain detailed laboratory records, and assist in the analysis and interpretation of chemical data. This role is designed to provide an immersive, hands-on experience in a professional research environment. Competitive applicants will have a strong foundation in chemistry, proficiency in a chemical lab environment, and a commitment to rigorous safety standards. Participants are required to present their work during the summer, in a symposium at the end of the program, and in the following academic year. Eligible applications must be currently enrolled at Augustana University, have passed a minimum of CHEM 2100, and be in good academic standing. Three undergraduate research assistant positions are available. Two positions are open to all eligible students.
