Job Description: company that produces at home testing kits. This role will be working with urine blood and fecal samples, so people will have to be comfortable around all three. The lab assistants will be opening and sorting samples, collecting samples, inputting information into lab information system, verifying patient information, additional responsibilities include cutting and coating the kit samples, as well as collect all samples label and prep them for the techs, as well as enter the kits data into the system when the techs have completed testing. Receive and quarantine all specimen packages. Open and sort specimens. Check specimens for acceptance criteria. Separate and properly code all non-testable specimens. Enter and verify (accession) all specimen information into LIS (Laboratory Information System) Assist in strip manufacturing duties, including cutting and preparing strips for coating. Receive and log in any deliveries of laboratory supplies. Assist in manual entry and verification of laboratory results. All other duties assigned by the Laboratory Manager and/or Laboratory Supervisor. Notify his/her supervisor of any possible deviations from documented procedures. Additional Skills & Qualifications Pipetting experience Dexterity Good Attention to detail Comfort level with handling sensitive samples Comfort level with using computers (they use Microsoft products) Ability to read, write, and speak English Shift updates: Also looking at Tues-Sat work weeks. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Hoffman Estates, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
