If you're ready to grow and make an impact, we'd love to be on your team.As an Application Engineer with AWC you will support our Industrial Automation product portfolio, with a strong emphasis on Siemens PLCs, drives, and networking solutions. As a technical resource within a leading automation distributor in the Austin market, this role serves as the bridge between our sales team and our customers' engineering teams. You will provide pre-sales technical support, system design assistance, commissioning guidance, and post-sales troubleshooting. This position requires strong Siemens expertise, hands-on troubleshooting ability, and the confidence to work directly with engineers, maintenance teams, and plant leadership. This is a full-time, in-office position based in Austin, TX.How you'll make an impact:Provide pre-sales and post-sales technical support for Siemens automation productsAssist customers with PLC selection, architecture design, and system integrationProgram and troubleshoot Siemens S7-1200 and S7-1500 PLCsSupport configuration of Siemens G120 drives and Profinet networksDevelop basic demo programs and proof-of-concept systemsConduct customer training sessions and technical workshopsAssist sales representatives with technical proposals and solution positioningTroubleshoot field issues (remote and on-site)Maintain strong relationships with local OEMs, system integrators, and end usersSkills you'll need:3-7+ years of experience in industrial automationStrong working knowledge of Siemens TIA PortalExperience with PLC programming, VFD configuration, and industrial Ethernet networksAbility to read electrical schematics and control panel drawingsStrong troubleshooting skills in live production environmentsValid driver's license and ability to travel locally (approx. 25-40%)Here's what will set you apart:Bachelor's degree (preferred in an Engineering)Siemens S7-1200 / S7-1500 platformsWinCC Unified or other HMI platformsProfinet, Modbus TCP, Ethernet/IPSafety PLCs and fail-safe systemsUL508A panel familiarityExperience supporting OEMs or system integratorsThe Rewards:Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP)401(K) MatchCompetitive PayMedical, Dental and Vision Insurance PackageEmployer Paid Life InsurancePaid Time Off and Holiday PayCareer Development OpportunitiesAbout AWCAs employee co-owners, we're driven to do more than complete tasks; we build fulfilling careers by challenging assumptions and continually raising the bar.
