Description: Responsible for providing technical expertise in support of nuclear plants. Performs advanced engineering tasks or other special projects requiring original concepts and a high level of experience and expertise necessary for the operation of nuclear units. Works independently, performs engineering tasks with little or no precedence, acts as a consultant to supervision. Ability to apply nuclear industry standards and regulations for new situations. Has management skills for facilitation of team actions for problem solving including conflict resolution to assure progress. Provides backup for supervision. Specialized Engineering Functions (will be mentioned as per requirement):Electrical/I&C Engineering: Power systems, ladder logic, safe shutdown analysis, computational tools (ETAP, EDISON). Mechanical Engineering: Pumps, valves, heat exchangers, pipe stress analysis, ASME standards. Civil/Structural Engineering: Seismic qualification, pipe supports, GT Strudel, welding, rigging.MOV Valve Engineering: Diagnostics, troubleshooting, valve program management. Education: Bachelor of Science in Engineering required; PE preferred, may substitute for degree. Relevant Experience: 15+ years of nuclear engineering or related experience, with significant expertise in plant operations and engineering project management. Responsibilities: Provides leadership for large-scale nuclear projects, coordinates multidisciplinary engineering teams, and resolves high-stakes technical challenges. Other: Advanced experience with expertise in 10CFR50.59, ASME code and regulatory compliance standards, NSCA shutdown analysis, and project oversight preferred. Additional Job Details This position is for a Capital Projects Electrical Engineer which will be located at our Jupiter West Corporate office. Engineers in this role provide technical interface with engineering firms on project development and prepare/review engineering documents using the applicable industry and regulatory standards. " Candidates should be knowledgeable with respect to the applicable industry and nuclear standards, the nuclear industry standard design process, independent design verification, preparing stand-alone electrical calculations, preparing procurement specifications, and 10CFR50.59. " Candidate is expected to be knowledgeable/proficient with molded case circuit breakers, motor starters, thermal overloads, low voltage power breakers and switchgear, medium voltage power breakers and switchgear, industrial battery chargers, industrial inverters or UPS, 125Vdc battery systems, Emergency Diesel Generators (EDGs), large dry type or oil filled transformers, main generators, voltage regulators, etc. " Experience with ladder logic, electrical schematics, NSCA/safe shutdown analysis (Appendix R/NFPA 805), power systems analysis (load flow, short circuit analysis, arc flash, coordination studies) as well as computational tools such as ETAP, EDISON, etc. is highly preferred, but not required. " Candidates experience should mostly be in the power systems engineering area and not Instrumentation and Control. Or experience related to sensors, analog or digital electronics and cyber security. " Candidates shall have at least 12 years of collective nuclear experience in US nuclear power plants (exclude international experience). Experience in other industries such as fossil (oil/gas) power plants, wind, solar, geothermal, transmission/distribution, oil and gas, petrochemical, etc. are not considered nuclear experience. " Prior experience as a cognizant/oversight engineer or engineering project management is also preferred but not required. However, the candidate shall have more design/project engineering than project management related experience. " Candidate will be expected to prepare or review/verify design output documents (i.e. design changes, calculations, specifications, etc.) for internally developed design changes. " Experience with NextEra Energy or Florida Power & Light nuclear power plants (Seabrook, Point Beach, St Lucie, Turkey Point) is also highly preferred, but not required.
