REPORTS TO: Senior Manager of Information ServicesSTATUS: Exempt, full-time LOCATION: Chicago, Illinois (currently hybrid remote/in-office schedule) SALARY RANGE: $51,261 - $69,836 (range commensurate with experience) ABOUT ALL CHICAGO MAKING HOMELESSNESS HISTORY (ALL Chicago MHH):All Chicago MHH's mission is to unite our community and resources to provide solutions that ensure and sustain the stability of home. On any given night, nearly 12,000 Chicagoans do not have a place to call home. These are our neighbors and together we can ensure that we all have stable homes.All Chicago MHH prevents and ends homelessness through emergency financial assistance, community partnerships, data analytics, and training and research. We strengthen our community's collective efforts to prevent and end homelessness, guided by a vision of impact, influence, and inspiration. As our name implies, All Chicago MHH brings together homeless service providers, non-profit partners, donors, and people with the lived experience of homelessness in a strategic effort to make homelessness history in Chicago.All Chicago manages the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS), a system which manages data on Chicagoans experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness and the services they receive. Our team supports more than 1000 individuals with training, helpdesk services, and running and interpreting reports. Chicago also leverages this data to drive allocation decisions, set strategy and policy, and monitor progress toward ending homelessness.We bring a sense of collaboration to our work and actively seek solutions through partnership! Learn more at .Position Summary:The HMIS Reporting Specialist is a member of the Homeless Management Information Systems team. The team works with the community to provide Homeless Management Information System administration, create reports and data extracts, conduct in-person training and provide technical assistance for users across the Chicago Continuum of Care (CoC). The HMIS Reporting Specialist helps ensure that timely and accurate data is distributed based on the needs of the community. The responsibilities of the HMIS Reporting Specialist include creating new reports and custom data extracts as directed, maintaining existing report portfolio by updating content as needed, providing related technical support to the CoC community in utilization of the reports, and testing and validation of output produced.Position responsibilities and work volume will be established and evaluated through ongoing supervision, annual reviews, and the development of an annual professional development plan.Position Responsibilities:Report and Data Request Development:Work with requesting partners and internal staff to understand report and data extract requestsDocument requirements necessary for solution deliveryDevelop technical specifications for building the requested solutionEnsure verification and validation of all data sources and data transformationsProduce report mock-up or proof of concept for review during solution developmentDocument expected results and test plan to verify resultsMaintain and update data dictionary as needed for common data definitions for the CoCPrepare and maintain a catalog of reports and data requestsUpdate reports and data requests based on HUD Data Standards ChangesAssist with production of periodic reports required for federal and state funded programs (e.g. - HIC, PIT, LSA, SPM, ESG/CAPER, and others)Pursue additional training or knowledge as needed to accomplish the above activitiesProactively identify data quality issues and work with HMIS management to implement solutionsProduce and provide documentation on content, context, and proper use of reports and data requestsTrain internal and external users on utilizing reports and data extractsSystem Administration & Help Desk Support:Monitor and respond to relevant support requests received through the helpdeskPerform administration and maintenance of reporting toolsEvaluate reporting tool updates to determine impacts and make preparations for implementationAdministration of some internal and external data sources other than HMIS systemRemain knowledgeable about current Data Standards, HMIS application and data changes, CoC-specific uses of data, and other relevant topics through independent study, relevant workshops, and conferencesOther Tasks:Keep current on trends and best practices related to reporting toolsActively participate in department and agency meetingsCommunicate effectively with management, peers, and partners in written, oral, video, and in-person communicationsOther duties as assignedRequirementsSuccessful candidates will demonstrate commitment to preventing and ending homelessness in Chicago and will have the following:2 years of overall relevant work experience or a college degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Business Analytics or related field2 years of experience in report design and implementation using tools such as SAP BusinessObjects Web intelligence, Microsoft SSRS Report Builder, or equivalentExperience in defining and performing quality assurance tasks including mass testing and validation of data resultsExpert knowledge/skills with Microsoft Office products including, but not limited to Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and AccessWorking knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server databases and query languageExperience with a Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) is preferredExcellent communication skills; ability to convey information in a clear and concise mannerSelf-motivated with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and manage changing prioritiesProven ability to be flexible and work hard, both independently and in a team environmentA strong work ethic, integrity, and the highest ethical standards are expectedPassion for inclusivity and diversity, and interest in being part of a multicultural team
