About the Role:The Assistant General Manager in the transportation industry plays a critical role in supporting the General Manager to ensure smooth and efficient operations across all departments. This position is responsible for overseeing daily activities, managing staff performance, and implementing strategic initiatives to improve productivity and customer satisfaction. The role requires a strong focus on problem-solving and operational excellence to address challenges promptly and maintain high standards of service delivery. The Assistant General Manager will collaborate closely with various teams to optimize workflows, ensure compliance with industry regulations, and drive continuous improvement. Ultimately, this position contributes significantly to the overall success and growth of the organization by maintaining operational integrity and fostering a positive work environment.Minimum Qualifications:ASE Certification or equivalent technical certification relevant to transportation and vehicle maintenance.Proven experience in a supervisory or management role within the transportation or warehousing industry.Strong problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability to identify issues and implement effective solutions.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to manage diverse teams and interact with stakeholders.Knowledge of transportation regulations, safety standards, and operational best practices.Preferred Qualifications:ASE Certified with knowledge of motor vehicle repair and basic maintenanceHave a valid CDL Class B license with (P) Passenger endorsement.Have a clean Driving Record.Responsibilities:Assist the General Manager in planning, directing, and coordinating operational activities to meet organizational goals.Supervise and support department managers and staff to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to company policies.Analyze operational data and identify areas for improvement to enhance productivity and reduce costs.Ensure compliance with safety standards, transportation regulations, and ASE certification requirements.Resolve operational issues by identifying problems, developing solutions, and implementing corrective actions promptly.Prepare reports on operational performance and present findings to senior management.Support recruitment, training, and development initiatives to build a skilled and motivated workforce.Skills:The required ASE Certification ensures the Assistant General Manager has a solid technical foundation to understand vehicle maintenance and safety standards, which is essential for overseeing transportation operations. Strong problem-solving skills are applied daily to identify operational bottlenecks, analyze root causes, and implement effective solutions that improve efficiency and reduce downtime. Communication and leadership skills are critical for managing teams, coordinating between departments, and fostering a collaborative work environment. Knowledge of industry regulations and best practices guides decision-making to maintain compliance and uphold safety standards.
