Job Title:Junior Structural DesignerLocation:Baton Rouge, LA RegionFLSA Classification Non-exemptJob Description:Orbital is currently seeking a Junior Structural Designer with experience in the production of drawings for concrete, steel and masonry structures. This position will support our Baton Rouge, LA Region. Essential FunctionsPrepare design drawings to facilitate timely and cost-effective construction of structural systemsInterdisciplinary collaboration with project civil/structural/mechanical/electrical engineers and designers throughout the design processReview structural drawings for errors and omissionsReview project contract documents throughout the project to ensure quality and accuracyAttend weekly project meetings to review design and project progressReview and update CAD Standards as needed to ensure accuracy and efficiencyMentor Junior Designers and provide first level oversightRequirements:3+ years of structural design experience with structural steel and reinforced concreteExperience designing and drafting structural systems in a heavy industrial environmentKnowledge of industry standardsProficient with the latest version of AutoCAD Experience with the latest version of AutoCAD Plant 3D is a PLUSExperience with the latest version of Navisworks is a PLUSExperience with Steel Detailing is a PLUSMust excel in working in a team environmentSelf-motivated with high attention to detailHigh school diploma or equivalent; Associates degree in design and drafting is a PLUSLocation Note:This is an on-site or hybrid position.
