Power BI Developer

Power BI Developer Atlanta, GA (30339) On-Site 6 Month Contract Seeking an experienced Power BI Developer with strong skills in semantic data modeling, advanced DAX, SQL, visualization, and Power BI administration. This role focuses on building scalable enterprise models, developing high quality dashboards, and supporting governance across the BI environment. Core Responsibilities: Semantic Modeling & Architecture " Design and optimize Power BI semantic models using star schema, dataflows, and shared datasets. " Build enterprise datasets with proper relationships, hierarchies, calculation groups, and incremental refresh. " Partner with data engineering to define requirements, improve data quality, and ensure scalability. " Implement modeling standards that support governed self service analytics. Advanced DAX Development: " Create complex DAX measures, calculated columns, and tables. " Optimize DAX for performance and maintainability. " Troubleshoot calculation issues and ensure accuracy across reports. Visualization & Dashboard Development: " Build intuitive, visually compelling dashboards aligned with best practices. " Apply data storytelling techniques to support decision making. " Develop drill throughs, bookmarks, custom visuals, and parameterized reports. " Ensure accessibility and usability standards. SQL Development (Oracle & SQL Server) : " Write efficient SQL queries, stored procedures, and views. " Perform data profiling, validation, and transformation. " Collaborate with DBAs to optimize performance and ensure data integrity. Power BI Administration & Governance: " Manage workspaces, datasets, gateways, refresh schedules, and capacity. " Support governance: certification, naming conventions, documentation, version control. " Monitor performance and troubleshoot refresh issues. " Assist with tenant level administration, access, licensing, and compliance. Required Qualifications: " Bachelor's degree in CS, IS, Data Analytics, or related field. " 5+ years Power BI development experience. " Expertise in semantic modeling, advanced DAX, Power Query (M), Power BI Desktop/Service. " Strong SQL skills in Oracle and SQL Server. " Experience with Power BI administration (gateways, RLS/OLS, governance, capacity). " Strong understanding of relational and dimensional modeling.
