The ideal candidate will be responsible for... Contracts & OCG SupportReviewing client engagement letters to ensure conformity with arrangements approved in file opening or via change forms and tracking identified issues through approval, resolution, and final documentation; Identifying non-standard or client-specific terms and routing them to appropriate stakeholders for review and approvalFollowing established workflows, approval processes, and naming conventions; understanding the importance of documentation, version control, and audit readiness.Tracking & Database ManagementMaintaining contract and compliance databases, ensuring documents, metadata, and key terms are complete and up to date;Maintaining records of client-specific provisions, exceptions, and negotiated positions for ongoing reference and compliance; Tracking finalized client agreements and related documents, including effective dates, amendments, and superseded versionsManaging notifications, reminders, and alerts related to approvals, updates, or required actionsCompliance & Administrative SupportAssisting with responding to client compliance requests and internal information needs by gathering and organizing relevant documentation; Escalating issues, inconsistencies, or potential risks to Compliance attorneys or SMEs as appropriatePreparing redlined versions of engagement letters, OCGs, or related documents as needed to support attorney reviewSupporting updates to internal policies, templates, and reference materials related to contracts and complianceConfirming receipt of required upfront retainers in coordination with Accounting and document confirmation in firm systems, when applicableCollaboration & Process SupportServing as a point of contact for basic questions regarding client documents, contract or review status, and tracking processesCollaborating with attorneys, Compliance team members, LAAs, and business professionals to support intake, review, routing, and follow-up activitiesAssisting with process improvements, system clean-up, and data quality initiatives to enhance efficiency and reliability; Supporting implementation of new tools, templates, or process changes by assisting with testing, documentation, and user adoption The successful candidate will demonstrate...Bachelor's degree, paralegal certificate, or equivalent experienceMinimum 2 years of experience in a legal, compliance, contracts, or administrative support role; Knowledge of standard contract concepts, compliance principles, client engagement, and outside counsel guidelines (OCGs) or contract tracking systems process preferred.Experience in a law firm, legal operations, or professional services environment preferredProficiency with Microsoft Office and database or document management systemsDemonstrates consistent accuracy when reviewing, uploading, categorizing, and tracking documents; identifies discrepancies, missing information, or inconsistencies and flags them appropriatelyAbility to effectively coordinate multiple competing tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment while maintaining organized records and meeting turnaround expectationsAbility to communicate clearly and professionally with attorneys, SMEs, and support staff; providing timely updates and responding promptly to inquiries regarding status or next stepsAbility to handles sensitive client, contractual, and firm information with discretion; understands the importance of confidentiality and data protection in a law firm environmentPay Range for Candidates in Baltimore, MD: $65,000 - $75,000 per yearThe range provided is the minimum and maximum salary that Venable in good faith believes at the time of this posting that it is willing to pay for the advertised position. Exact compensation will be determined based on individual candidate qualifications and location. Additional compensation may include discretionary bonuses and overtime, if eligible.
