This hands-on role focuses on learning safety processes while performing inspections, compliance checks, documentation, and general HSE support tasks.Ideal for candidates with warehouse, industrial, maintenance, or safety-related experience who want to build a career in Environmental Health & Safety (HSE / EHS).Key ResponsibilitiesPerform daily inspections of safety equipment (fire extinguishers, eyewash stations, safety showers, etc.)Inspect and restock PPE, spill kits, and first aid suppliesSupport shop housekeeping and 5S organizationAssist with workplace safety inspections and corrective action trackingMonitor chemical storage and hazardous waste areas for compliancePerform environmental compliance checks (labeling, storage, spill prevention)Track and document equipment inspections (forklifts, pallet jacks, shop equipment)Maintain HSE logs, records, and inspection reportsReport hazards, unsafe conditions, and near missesSupport incident investigations by gathering information and documentationAssist with new hire safety orientation and onboardingReinforce safe work practices in the shopOther duties as assignedQualificationsExperience (any of the following):1-3 years in industrial, warehouse, manufacturing, maintenance, or shop environments preferredSome college coursework in HSE, Environmental Science, or related fieldEquivalent combination of education and experienceSkills:Basic understanding of workplace safety and hazard recognitionInterest in HSE / EHS career pathAbility to follow safety procedures and instructionsStrong attention to detail and organizationGood communication and teamwork skillsBasic Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Ability to manage multiple tasksBasic math skills (percentages, measurements, ratios)Physical RequirementsFrequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, and climbingRegular use of hands for inspection and documentation tasksAbility to lift up to 50 lbs occasionallyAbility to visually inspect equipment and identify hazardsWork EnvironmentIndustrial shop and warehouse environmentExposure to moving equipment, dust, fumes, and chemicalsModerate noise levelsPPE required at all timesTraining ProvidedHSE policies and proceduresHazard recognition and reportingInspection processesPPE requirements and useEmergency equipment inspectionsEnvironmental compliance basicsOn-the-job training with HSE staffWhy This RoleEntry point into a long-term HSE career pathHands-on safety experience in an industrial settingTemp-to-hire opportunityCompetitive pay: $25-$28/hr#INSJ Requirements:  Job Type:  Temp to Hire Post Date:  03/23/2026
