Job OverviewWe are seeking an Industrial Engineer Intern who will support and directly impact how we build and scale our autonomous service vessels. This is a hands-on experience, which will allow you to apply your academic knowledge in a real-world setting and contribute to projects that significantly impact national security and maritime innovation. This internship is ideal for students pursuing industrial engineering or a related field, and eager to make an impact in the defense tech industry.ResponsibilitiesSupport the design and development of hardware and software systems for ASVsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and refine ASV prototypesEnsure vessel designs support mission-specific operational requirementsDocument progress, prepare and write reports, and present findings to the teamWork on manufacturing-related projects, aimed at improving efficiency, organization, and scalability of our production processesImprove manufacturing floor layout and organizationDrive process improvement initiatives through time studies and workflow analysesAssist with database analysis for production tracking and planningContribute to light tool and fixture design as neededSupport the implementation of lean manufacturing principlesQualificationsCurrently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Industrial Engineering or a related fieldFamiliarity with manufacturing principlesFamiliarity with robotics, autonomy, or maritime and control systemsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environmentPhysical DemandsProlonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computerOccasional standing and walking within the officeManual dexterity to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other office equipmentVisual acuity to read screens, documents, and reportsOccasional reaching, bending, or stooping to access file drawers, cabinets, or office suppliesLifting and carrying items up to 20 pounds occasionally (e.g., office supplies, packages)This role requires access to export-controlled information or items that require "U.S. Person" status.
