Position Type: Clerical/Paraprofessional Support/Special Education AssistantDate Posted: 10/21/2025Location: Stafford High SchoolDate Available: 10/21/2025Closing Date: Until FilledDescription: This employee will work under the direct supervision of campus administration to assist teachers in helping students complete their classroom assignments; responsible for working with students who need additional instruction, preparing materials and equipment for activities, and discussing students' progress with the student's teacher(s) of record, as deemed appropriate by teacher of record and/or supervisor. Job Summary: Major Responsibilities and Duties: Instructional Support1. Provide instruction to students under the direction of teacher; work with individual students or small groups. 2. Assist teacher in preparing instructional materials and classroom displays. 3. Support and assist the teacher or teaching team with teaching duties, including working in small groups or with individual students to conduct instructional exercises assigned by the teacher. 4. Reinforce appropriate behavior in accordance with teacher's plan, and the student's Individual Education Plan. 5. Assist in supervising students throughout the day, both inside and outside the classroom. 6. Keep the teacher informed of any special needs or problems of individual students. 7. Assist in preparing, modifying, or adapting teaching materials or equipment to individual needs of students. 8. Assist in inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment. 9. Operate technology equipment which would include preparing the room for the activity, obtaining the required material and equipment, the operation of the equipment and the return of all equipment to storage. 10. Assist with administration and scoring of objective testing instruments or work assignments. 11. Help maintain neat and orderly classroom. 12. Help with inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment. 13. Help teacher keep administrative records, data collection and prepare required reports. 14. Provide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers. Student Management 15. Assist the teacher with administration of appropriate assessments designed to measure and observe student programs when appropriate and as desired 16. Assist the teacher with evaluating student progress and providing feedback to the classroom teacher. 17. Help supervise students throughout school day, inside and outside classroom. This includes lunchroom, bus, and playground duty. 18. Make teacher aware of special needs or problems of individual students. Communication 19. Establish and maintain cooperative relations with other employees 20. Assist the teacher with establishing and maintaining open lines of communication with students and their parents concerning academic and behavioral progress of assigned students. 21. Assist the teacher with preparing progress reports to school personnel and to parents. 22. Be available via phone, email, or video conferencing to confer with district/campus personnel Other 23. Participate in staff development training programs, faculty meetings, and special events as directed by supervisor. 24. Participate in faculty meeting and special events as assigned. 25. Participate fully in drills and safety exercises to provide for the safety and overall emotional well-being of students. 26. Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures. 27.
