Position Summary: As the largest provider of cancer care in the region, the University of Tennessee Medical Center's Cancer Institute offers the broadest spectrum of cancer specialists and services to care for the adult population. The 83,000-square-foot cancer area is equipped with features that support and enhance the comprehensive services provided to oncology patients and is devised to meet the needs of patients, families, physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and other staff. Our multidisciplinary team of cancer specialists provides patients with the highest quality of care. The Oncology Pharmacist Specialist is a vital member of our cancer care team, delivering expert pharmaceutical care to both inpatient and outpatient oncology patients. This position will include rotations across our inpatient oncology services, as well as our ambulatory oncology pharmacies at both the main campus and Lenoir City Regional Health Center. In addition, there may be opportunities to provide care in an ambulatory clinic pharmacist role and to contribute to our Transplantation and Cellular Services team. By combining clinical expertise with compassionate patient care, the specialist ensures safe, effective, and personalized therapy for individuals throughout their cancer journey. The Oncology Pharmacist Specialist would be expected to: * Manage medication therapy for oncology patients across inpatient and outpatient infusion settings, ensuring safe, effective, and individualized care. * Serve as a clinical resource and educator for pharmacists, residents, students, and interdisciplinary teams. * Develop and implement drug policies and electronic regimens, providing expert, evidence-based recommendations for oncology pharmacotherapy. * Collaborate with physicians and nursing teams to identify and resolve service-related issues, driving quality improvement initiatives. * Provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care, including consults, clinical interventions, and stewardship of oncology medications. * Deliver patient and staff education on prescribing, monitoring, and managing oncology therapies. * Precept PGY2 Oncology and PGY1 Pharmacy residents, fostering advanced clinical training and professional development. Position Qualification: Required: Pharm.D. degree from ACPE accredited College of Pharmacy, ASHP accredited residency required, and Tennessee licensure (or obtainable within 90 days).
