Cedar Riverside Peoples Center, a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) is pleased to invite qualified individuals to apply for this open Hooyo Intern role. People's Center is a nationally recognized non-profit community health center serving vibrant communities in the Twin Cities. Our clinics located in the Cedar-Riverside neighborhood and Longfellow neighborhood of Minneapolis are dedicated to delivering high-level and affordable healthcare services. Position Summary The Hooyo Intern will work alongside the Maternal and Child Community Based Doula to support administrative functions and coordinate all the Brightside Produce referrals and pre/post surveys. Main Responsibilities * Increase patient knowledge regarding WIC benefits, nutrition, exercise, breastfeeding, labor interventions and support, newborn care, stress management, women's health, and family planning * Educate and register patients for federal food benefit programs and track weekly produce delivery * Aid in community nutrition and cooking workshop demonstrations Qualifications * 1-2 years' experience in a health care setting, preferably primary care (doula, OB/pediatrics, medical interpreter and/or community health worker) * Associate degree or Bachelor's degree preferred * Bilingual: Somali-English preferred Benefits We offer competitive pay as well as performance-based incentive awards and other great benefits for a happier mind, body, and wallet.
